The project is planned for 330–650 kt/year over 315 operating days, with 11.8 million m³ of overburden stripping and a workforce of 188 across the current three-year model life.
A short 21 km road haul connects the mine to Railway Junction 25 and the national rail network, with quality tracked across loading, stockpiling and dispatch.

Dalan has produced coal since 2010, with both open-pit and underground development studied. Quality varies considerably across the deposit, total calorific value spans roughly 4,776–7,340 kcal/kg, with notable variation in sulfur.
Rather than treating all coal as one product, the plan is selective mining on quality zones, with sorting and blending, and washing added only where it is economically justified.
